Printable Nanocomposites
Being able to develop novel materials with properties that emerge on the nanoscale is a key step in application-driven material development, but creating a material that maintains its nanoscale properties in a macroscopic solid is another feat altogether. 3D printing provides an avenue for scalable fabrication of complex materials in customizable form factors.
Often times, the useful form factor for an application is not the form factor that is prepared by the typical fabrication methods. We are developing 3D-printing capabilities for preparing nanocomposites of any desired geometry using a direct-ink writing approach. With this process, we aim to be able to prepare materials with your desired combination of properties in a scalable method.
