Nanomaterials
We synthesize nanoparticles of numerous compositions for a variety of metallic, semiconducting, and shielding applications. Have a particular nanomaterial in mind? Let's see if we can work together to produce it for you!
Advanced Radiation Shielding
Our advanced radiation shielding is capable of attenuating gamma-rays and charged particles with a lesser density than traditional materials, enabling lighter-weight shielding.
Dual-particle Imagers
Energetic Particle Sensor for the Identification and Localization of Originating Nuclei (EPSILON) is our handheld radiation imager. Using a coded aperture, the EPSILON device is able to locate both neutrons and gamma-ray sources in a live video display.
Lightweight Conductors
By aligning metallic nanoparticles along polymeric nanofibers, sufficient electronic conductivity can be achieved with a fraction of the mass of traditional conductors.
Radiation and Particle Detectors
Utilizing nanoparticles, we can achieve lower-cost, light-weight, and high-resolution detectors of X-rays and gamma-rays. We also develop silicon PIN detectors as effective X-ray and beta particle sensors.
Printable Nanocomposites
We are able to prepare 3D-printed structures by direct-ink writing using a mixture of nanoparticles and polymer, tailored to your specific application.
